Zoning permits, sign permits, zoning waivers, land disturbance permits, banner/temporary sign permits.

Permit Review Processes
The review processes for different permits take different amounts of time.
Anything that requires a town zoning permit, requires An Isle of Wight County building permit. Please contact the Isle of Wight County Building Inspections at (757) 365-6213. If the electricity and gas have been turned off at a vacant business location, contact the power or gas company to restore it. As for reconnection to water and sewer, contact the Town Water Department at (757) 365-4200. To find out what information is required to apply for permits or whether you need a permit to make an addition to an existing building or build a new building, contact the Smithfield Planning and Zoning Department at (757) 365-4200.
