You can obtain zoning and building permits, wetlands, erosion and sediment control through this department. A site plan needs to be filed and an appointment with a planner is recommended. Call (757)678-0443 for an appointment. Please allow one week for the review process if allowed by right. For a variance or special use permit, the review process will take one month.
A building permit is required for anything over 150 feet. There may be a per square foot charge depending on the location of the building site. To add on to an existing building or build a new building, zoning approval, a building permit and building inspecions are required.
